HSDS supports research, learning, and teaching with high-quality, trusted digital resources. Alongside an extensive collection of freely available datasets and access to a network of research services, you’ll find resources designed to build skills and confidence for students, researchers, and heritage professionals at all levels.
These resources are available to use in both formal and informal learning environments, wherever heritage science and conservation topics are being explored. To date the HSDS has delivered training in topics such as ‘Archive Ready Data’, ‘Catalogue of Services Training’, ‘How To Use the HSDS Catalogues’ and ‘Data Management Plans For Heritage Science’. The HSDS shares the same repository infrastructure as the Archaeology Data Service. For some heritage science data types we are developing HSDS-specific guidance but we also share information about data deposit procedures and data standards with the ADS, and encourage users to go to relevant ADS web pages for more information:
