At the end of the month the HSDS will be running a free, two hour training session to introduce participants to data management plans (DMPs), specifically within the heritage science sector.
This training will cover what a DMP is, why it is important and how it supports good research practice. The key sections of a DMP are explained using practical examples, alongside how the FAIR data principles can be applied.
This training session presented by Dr Ewan Chipping, explores the specific characteristics and challenges of heritage science data, ethical and legal considerations, and long-term preservation needs. Finally, we will conclude with suggestions for useful tools, templates, and support services providing participants with the framework and resources to draft or improve DMPS for their own practice.
