Harwell Heritage Network

In the heart of Oxfordshire, Harwell Campus encompasses some of the most important research facilities in the UK and Europe. We are home to Diamond Light Source, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, Research Complex at Harwell, the Central Laser Facility and many others.

Harwell Heritage LogoThe Harwell Heritage Network (HHN) was created to connect researchers and enthusiasts of Heritage Science within Harwell Campus, to facilitate access to advanced characterisation methods for the heritage community. The network is chaired by Dr Antonella Scherillo, from ISIS, who has extensively worked with the heritage community, and by Dr Arthur Graf from HarwellXPS. The network has a wide range of facilities and capabilities including: imaging, chemical mapping, elemental composition, chemical environment and crystallography.

In partnership with RICHeS, our network facilitates the transportation of samples to specialized facilities, connects researchers, and addresses scientific inquiries from the heritage community. We recognize that members of this community may sometimes be unsure about the appropriate techniques needed to answer their questions. As such, we offer scientific assistance to help guide researchers and organizations to the correct most appropriate facilities and technologies.
