Harmful Language Statement

Our Harmful Language Statement provides guidance for users who may encounter archival materials containing potentially offensive or discriminatory historical content. The statement outlines our approach to preserving these materials for research, while acknowledging their potentially distressing nature.

Interim Guidance

For operational areas not yet covered by HSDS-specific policies, we follow the Archaeology Data Service (ADS) policies and procedures as our framework. The ADS maintains comprehensive documentation covering digital preservation, data management, and repository operations.
